This weekend I had a major project working with PDF documents emailed to me that required my signature. This meant I had to print them out, sign them, and then scan them back into PDFs for the return trip. So printing and signing was the easy part. And yes, I could get them back into my machine using my flatbed scanner. Then I had to be able to turn the scanned images back into PDFs. Yup, CutePDF Writer to the rescue, as we've noted previously.
The challenge was turning the resulting, separate PDF files back into a single file, multi-page PDF document. For this I found a free, open source tool that very handily manages splitting and merging PDFs. PDF Split and Merge is a very capable program, but it does function just a bit differently than most Windows apps. It may be different, but it worked flawlessly. If the interface is a bit confusing for you at first, you might benefit from the Tutorials available on the PDFSAM resources page. Great tool! 14791
